Meet the Team.

  • Oli Peterson

    Co-Founder, Marine Scientist.

Meet Oli, a marine ecologist who specialises in benthic ecology: the study of ecosystems on the bottom of the ocean. In particular, Oli is passionate about raising awareness around Porifera (sea sponges) and their importance to the broader marine ecosystem.

Oli grew up swimming and snorkeling across Australia before getting his Open Water ticket at Rapid Bay in 2018. He has since worked as a scientific diver, Divemaster and educator across South Australia. You can often find him poking his head in caves and under ledges searching for cryptic critters in the deep and dark parts of our seas!

  • Louise Hosking

    Co-Founder, Marine Scientist.

Meet Louise, a marine ecologist who specialises in sclerochronology: the study of accretionary structures (e.g. bones and shells), and how these structures vary over time. Currently undertaking her PhD, Louise is using this technique to better understand the ecology of sharks across Australia.

A South Australian local, Louise spent her childhood swimming at Port Noarlunga with her family. In 2016, she completed her PADI Open Water Diver certificate, immersing herself further in the marine world. These days you can find her teaching others to dive as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor at Diving Adelaide.

Louise is a strong advocate for sharing scientific knowledge with the community, and for creating opportunities for the community to meaningfully engage in activities that foster a deeper understanding of the marine environment and actively contribute to its protection.

  • Jordan Francis

    Co-Founder, Operations Manager.

Meet Jordan, our operational wizard who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Growing up on the south coast of South Australia, Jordan spent his childhood exploring the waters of Second Valley, Rapid Bay, and other spots along the Fleurieu Peninsula. After earning his PADI Open Water Diver certification in 2014, he fell in love with diving.

After a few years in office roles within the tourism industry, Jordan joined Diving Adelaide to expand his knowledge and skills in the diving world. During the week, he helps manage the shop, making sure everything runs smoothly.

Jordan is also passionate about marine conservation, helping divers learn responsible practices and supporting efforts to keep South Australia’s oceans healthy for future generations.
